Eventually 1942 came around and I was wondering where the Allies (who were at war with me) were and made the mistake of turning off FOW and realizing I'd wasted my day playing HoI4 because the Allies AI had totally puked. Somewhat off-topic, my satisfaction at the SU attacking Poland when I went ahistorical was short-lived, sadly. Poland and the SU are at peace on the last day of August, but my next save is December 1941 and at that point I've taken back the half or so of Poland that the SU took and am eating into SU territories with my counter-offensive. Looking at my saved games, it was some point in late 1940 or early-to-mid 1941. I was playing a historical AI SP game as Germany yesterday and tried befriending Poland, and was pleased that things seemed to work out OK and the SU declared on Poland and started attacking them and kicked off the Axis vs COMINTERN phase of WW2.įor one possible data point to your question, then:
